mountain gnar weekend.

Last Thursday, bright and early, we packed up the truck and set forth for our campsite in Ocoee, Tennessee.

We had a quick breakfast and chess game at Cracker Barrel before hitting the road. Because … priorities.

For lunch we ate at Pizza by the River at the Nantahala Outdoor Center and I was psyched to be back in the land of mountains and rivers after a few days at the office had separated me from my mountain trip with the family.

We arrived at our campsite in time to pitch tents, start a fire, and make drinks.

{Home for 3 nights}

{Add music and vodka = happiness}

D cooked pancakes and bacon the next morning and then we set off for a hike to Benton Falls. The trip up the mountain was not without scenic adventure.

Once we got back we fixed an easy lunch and then made camp by the cornhole boards and KanJam.

Saturday morning we woke up bright an early to D’s breakfast burritos and then headed to raft the Ocoee River. It was freezing cold and so much fun! And followed with campfire grilled cheese for lunch, ice cold beers, and a barbeque cookout for dinner.

The rains showed up Saturday evening and stayed around til Sunday morning as we packed up camp and headed to The Dillard House for lunch.

It was the perfect weekend and I can’t wait to be stuck in a tent again soon with those friends.
