Last night, Daniel and I headed to Finlay Park for the Light the Night Walk benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It was a beautiful evening following a rainy day in Columbia. The sunset was breathtaking.
When Mom (Mom – not a doctor, not a mammogram) first discovered her cancer she soon learned that it had also spread to 24/25 out of her lymph nodes. This wasn’t her first tumor. This woman had had many a rodeo. But this was the worst kind yet.
Every day I celebrate the lives of those closest to me. Hers more than any. And while last night we lit the night and every day this month people will wear pink and do so in honor of breast cancer awareness, I get my mom as my constant reminder of all that is good.
