This past summer has really changed me. There was something about it that was very rich, very freeing. There were bits where I felt like my soul was finally settling in all these good parts, staccatoed throughout the hottest months. It was a short glimpse into the kind of endless days I always hope for. Days filled with fishing and hiking and farmer’s markets and long runs and bike rides and mountains. Endless mountains.

While back in columbia.sc, I settle this unruly heart with urban runs and salvage yards, quiet nights reading, and live folksy music here and there. I keep dreaming. I read Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, as I am now, and am reminded of the beauty that is everywhere. And how much I want to be a part of it.
