happiest of birthdays.

Sometimes it’s the people that come into your life when you least expect it, when your head’s in a cloud or in a tornado or in a rainbow, and they change things. They understand the things you love. They listen when you talk. They listen more than the last person you dated or the friends who are right in front of your face. And you wonder how you ever survived before them.

Earlier this year I was so lucky when that person came in the form of Laura. From our mutual love of shopping, our favorite charity, to even our kindred hearts, she’s easy for me to love.

Saturday was Laura’s big 24th birthday and her roommates got in touch with me about coming up to Charlotte to surprise her. It’s funny – the moment I decided to go up to see her, she was the first person I wanted to share the news with and (obviously) couldn’t. People are such gems. Laura’s surely a diamond.

And boy was she ever surprised! After her initial SQUEEEEEEE she had shock two upon seeing me!

I miss those girls already. Can’t wait to see them again soon.
